In 1991, to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the birth of the great Wessex writer Thomas Hardy, Mere Drama Society mounted it's own adaptation of Under the Greenwood Tree.
The 50th Anniversary of VE Day and the ending of World War II was celebrated with members participating in a 40's style concert on VE weekend and the Autumn production of Katie's Party, written by member, Adrienne Howell.
